What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is topic that has repeatedly been discussed in my college courses. Professors warn us to never even venture into the playing field of plagiarism, it may sound all nice and dandy to pass someone else's work as our own, but it is not worse the outcome. Plagiarism is the act of taking another person's work and pass it as our own. I just know that this a very important area in academia and it should be covered in great detail to avoid future plagiarism.
